Tutorial (Level 1-10)

  • (Optional) Pick any starting class you want. If you're not sure, I recommend starting with Vagabond or Samurai, as they have good starting stats for most builds.
  • (Optional) For a completionist's run, I recommend starting with the Stonesword Key x2 keepsake. They are necessary items for full completion and two of them costs at least 4,000 runes, meaning you won't need to buy an extra two for an expensive price in the early game. You could also pick the Lands Between Rune for 3,000 runes, but if you have to buy Stonesword Keys at any point, then I think picking those will give you greater value in the long run.
    • Note: Don't pick the Golden Seed if you're following this guide, as it will become obsolete almost immediately after the first few sections. No starting class equipment or keepsake is missable, so go with whichever one you like!
  • Start your playthrough, and pick up Tarnished's Wizened Finger from the chapel.
  • The Ring gesture is aqcuired if you pre-ordered the game.
  • Similarly, the Ring of Miquella gesture is aqcuired if you pre-ordered the DLC.
  • Continue toward the boss, and either beat or die to the Grafted Scion.
    • If you beat the boss, continue ahead and inspect the nascent butterfly at the edge of the cliff.
    • If you didn't beat the boss, don't worry, you're supposed to come back here later.
  • After respawning in the cave, take the plunge down to the Cave of Knowledge.
  • Rest at the Cave of Knowledge site of grace and allocate your flask charges.
  • There are no items in this cave, so once you are done, kill Soldier of Godrick for 400 runes.
  • Continue ahead and pick up the Strength! gesture before you drop down.
  • Drop down and activate the Stranded Graveyard site of grace.
  • There is an Imp Seal statue here you can unlock with your Stonesword Keys, but ignore this for later when you're much stronger.
  • Pick up Finger Severer and Tarnished's Furled Finger in one pickup, near the exit lift.
  • Take the lift up and enter the Lands Between!

First steps in Limgrave (Level 1-10)

Early Liurnia and Caelid (Level 1-10)

  • Note: Reminder that you should try to avoid fighting any enemies while you are in Liurnia and Caelid early. You will pretty much get one-shot by most enemies, so just run through each step here without fighting anything.
  • Travel to Stormhill Shack and follow the road up the hill until you see an Ash of War Scarab in the middle of the road. Be wary of the ballistas and kill the Scarab to get the Ash of War: Wild Strikes.
  • From the Scarab's initial position, head northwest and on the right side under the bridge ahead is a corpse with Lump of Flesh.
  • Continue north toward the bridge. You can talk to the Finger Reader Crone here if you want, but continue past the bridge for Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [7].
  • Jump down from the bridge and southwest before you continue any further is another Ash of War Scarab you can kill to receive the Ash of War: Storm Wall.
  • Turn around and head east up the rocks and follow the path until you reach the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace.
  • When you rest at the grace here, or any other in Liurnia, Irina will die and Hyetta will appear in front of the grace, possibly indicating that Irina is somehow reborn as Hyetta. You can talk to her, but you won't have any shabriri grapes to give her yet.
  • Take in the view and once you're ready, head southwest to the church below. Head inside the church and pick up the Sacred Tear.
  • Talk to Thops, give him 10 runes to unlock his inventory, and buy any sorceries you need from him:
  • Continue west from the church toward a graveyard and pick up Warming Stone from the base of a tree.
  • Jump across the gap toward the other side of the graveyard and pick up Academy Scroll in front of the big gravestone.
    • Now that you've obtained your first scroll, you have the option of giving it to Sellen, Seluvis, or Miriel to unlock the scroll's sorceries for purchase.
    • Similarly, once you get your first prayerbook, you will have the option of giving it to either Corhyn or Miriel to unlock that prayerbook's incantations for purchase.
    • Since Sellen, Corhyn, and Seluvis are often unavailable due to their quests, I recommend you give all the scrolls and prayerbooks you find to Miriel instead, as he is always available. Doing this will also keep all your purchasable spells in one place.
  • Head back to the church and this time, continue southwest down the ravine path to a camp with Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [1].
  • Pick up Smouldering Butterfly x6 hidden in a tent on your left as you enter the camp.
  • Continue north and activate the Liurnia Lake Shore site of grace.
  • Just ahead of the grace is a Nomadic Merchant (East Liurnia). Buy any items you need from him:
  • Follow the main path until you reach a stone pillar with Map: Liurna, East.
  • Continue directly northwest until you reach the Laskyar Ruins site of grace.
  • Dont't forget to pick up Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [2] just next to the grace.
  • From the grace, head directly northwest toward the building ahead and use the teleporter inside. This will teleport you to the South Raya Lucaria Gate, but you'll have to be quick before the revenant spawns.
  • Now that you've been teleported, go ahead and activate the South Raya Lucaria Gate site of grace in front of you.
  • Pick up Meeting Place Map directly in front of the gate.
  • Turn around and ride directly south toward the back of the enemies ahead, and to the left of the Flame Chariot, just after the spiked barriers is a corpse with Smithing Stone [3].
  • Instantly turn left here, and ride east all the way down the stairs. Ride toward southeast when you reach the bottom of the stairs and pick up Golden Seed from the base of tree.
  • From here, head southeast until you get the gate town on your left side, and keep heading this direction with the town on your left side the entire time until you reach the actual entrance to the gate town. Activate the Academy Gate Town site of grace.
  • Pick up Map: Liurnia, North from the stone pillar right behind the grace.
  • From the stone pillar, head directly north-northwest, until you meet Diallos mourning a dead body. Talk to him and exhaust his dialogue.
  • Head directly northwest toward the back of a building's rooftop. On the rooftop behind is a Somber Scarab you kan kill for Somber Smithing Stone [2].
  • Continue north-northwest toward the round isolated building in the middle of the lake and use the teleporter inside.
  • Pick up Map: Liurnia, West immediately to your left.
  • Turn around toward southwest and activate the Northern Liurnia Lake Shore site of grace.
  • Ride northeast and follow the path straight through Kingsrealm Ruins until you get to a wall. Hit or roll through the illusory wall and activate the Road to the Manor site of grace.
  • Sitting on the side of the road is Iji. Talk to him and buy anything you need: (If you're following the guide you won't need to buy any somber stones from him.)
  • If you tell Iji "Blaidd sent me" he will expand his inventory to sell:
  • Travel to Northern Liurnia Lake Shore, head directly east-southeast and pick up Somber Smithing Stone [3] from the corpse in a chair under the large bridge.
  • Continue heading directly south this time to activate the Gate Town North site of grace.
  • Head east-southeast from here, and once you pass the round stone building with the teleporter you used earlier, face directly east into the woods, and past the Giant Magic Miranda Sprout on your left is another round building with Smithing Stone [3] x3.
  • From here, head southeast until you reach a corpse on a chair with Smithing Stone [3] x3 surrounded by Miranda Sprouts.
  • Turn around and head northeast to activate the Eastern Liurnia Lake Shore site of grace.
  • From the grace, follow the path east, and make a right turn when the path splits. Follow the eastern path all the way down and enter the study hall. Activate the Study Hall Entrance site of grace for later.
  • Turn around again and back outside to your left is a large rock. On the leftmost side under the rock is a Somber Scarab you can kill for Somber Smithing Stone [3].
  • Travel to Eastern Liurnia Lake Shore and this time take the left path at the crossroads. Continue following the path all the way up to the very top while passing the green Flame Chariot on the way. Activate the Church of Vows site of grace outside the church at the top of the hill.
  • Head inside the church, talk to Miriel for some lore and buy any spells you need from him:
  • Give the Academy Scroll to Miriel and he will expand his inventory to sell:
  • Now that you've spoken to Miriel, be wary that a Bell Bearing Hunter can spawn here during nighttime.
  • In the back of the church is a chest with Gold Sewing Needle and Golden Tailoring Tools.
  • Head west behind the church and at the very edge of the cliff, facing the academy is a corpse with Stormhawk Feather x5.
  • From here, ride northeast past the church until you see a small gravesite on your left. Pick up Grave Violet in front of the big gravestone.
  • Travel to The First Step, and now that you've been to the Roundtable, Varré will have some new dialogue. Optionally talk to him and tell him "I'll fly straight and true!". Make sure to exhaust his dialogue.
  • Turn around and head behind the building in front of you. Drop down the leftmost part of the cliffside and just below on the stone pillar is Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot x2.
  • Jump down northeast toward some gibbets and near the hole next to some bats is a Smithing Stone [1].
  • Head northeast again toward Dragon-Burnt Ruins where you can find:
    • Twinblade. Inside a chest in a hidden cellar. Inside the building to the right, slightly separated from the rest of the ruins. You will need Torrent to get inside.
    • Crab Eggs. Located east behind the separated building.
    • 2x Golden Rune [2]. On two separate corpses in the middle of the ruins.
    • Stonesword Key. In a small building inside the ruins, next to a rat.
  • Head down the main cellar once you have all the items. Mind the rats and open the trapped chest to be transported to Caelid.
  • Open the chest in front of you for Gravity Stone Fan x6 and Gravity Stone Chunk x3.
  • Exit the tunnels by taking the path downwards. Continue down the ladder and activate the Sellia Crystal Tunnel site of grace.
  • Pick up Rot Grease in the corner of the room.
  • Leave the tunnels and head southwest toward the yellow glowing steps on the ground. Hit the Invisible Scarab as it's coming toward you to get the Poison Armament incantation.
  • Mount up on Torrent and ride east into the rot swamp. Pick up Rune Arc from the small island.
  • Ride southwest from here and activate the Inner Aeonia site of grace.
  • Ride northwest past the large Crimson Teardrop Scarab and continue through the ravine until you reach a dead end. Pick up Somber Smithing Stone [5] next to the School of Graven Mages.
  • Head back out the way you came and head west, hugging the wall to your right until you come across some Giant Miranda Sprouts. On a tree branch to the right is a corpse with Sacramental Bud.
  • Turn around and ride south-southeast toward Street of Sages Ruins where you can find:
    • Rock Sling. From the chest in a cellar. Inside the first building you would head toward from the Giant Miranda Sprouts.
    • Perfumer Traveler's Set and Perfume Bottle. In one pickup south-southeast from the first building with Rock Sling.
    • Meteorite Staff. On a corpse hanging through a window. In the final building southwest from the second building with the Perfumer Set.
    • Golden Rune [4]. On a corpse in a corner found as you exit the same room where you found the Meteorite Staff.
  • Continue southeast and hug the wall to your right side the entire time. Activate the Aeonia Swamp Shore site of grace. Rest here and pass time until morning to avoid a boss here.
  • Ride southeast into the rot swamp and on a small island is a Teleporting Scarab. Kill it fast before it disappears to get the Ash of War: Poisonous Mist. Alternatively you can use a ranged weapon/spell or throwing item.
  • Standing on the small island, look up directly southwest with your camera. On top of the enourmous white mushroom-covered rock are some enemies. Ride west-southwest and climb all the way up the rock. At the very top of the rock, surrounded by Servants of Rot is a corpse with Golden Rune [4].
  • Climb down southwest for a corpse with Golden Rune [3] at the bottom, behind the mushroom-covered rock.
  • Continue east toward a camp and a broken-down wagon you can destroy to find Crab Eggs x4 on a corpse underneath.
  • Head southeast toward the road and pick up Map: Caelid from the stone pillar.
  • Follow the path south of the pillar down and pick up Golden Seed from the golden tree next to the road.
  • Head back up again, and just east of the stone pillar is a Nomadic Merchant (Caelid South). Buy any items you need from him:
  • Head directly northeast of the merchant and activate the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank site of grace.
  • Ride northwest toward the rot swamp for Smithing Stone [4] x3, Sacramental Bud, and Rune Arc on three corpses next to some chairs.
  • Head north-northeast into the rot swamp and pick up Aeonian Butterfly and Somber Smithing Stone [4] from the two corpses between the tree branches.
  • Continue north up the path and kill the Exploding Scarab ahead to receive the Ash of War: Sacred Ring of Light.
  • Travel back to Roundtable Hold and since you've rested at a grace outside of Limgrave, Roderika will now be here. Exhaust her dialogue and she will tell you that she's still looking for her purpose.
  • Talk to Hewg about Roderika and he will mention that she has a gift for spirit tuning. Walk back to Roderika and "Tell her what the blacksmith said".
  • Go back and talk to Hewg again. Ask him "Would you watch over Roderika?" and "It's what she wants".
  • Rest at the table of lost grace (the big roundtable) and find Roderika in the same room as Hewg, who you can optionally talk to again for some additional dialogue. Talk to Roderika and she will now offer to upgrade your spirit ashes.
  • (Optional) You can also talk to Diallos now that you've met him in Liurnia. Exhaust his dialogue and he will reveal the location of Volcano Manor.
  • Congratulations! You've now completed the long and exhausting preparations part of the game! From here, I recommend using the Somber Smithing Stones [1-5] you got, to upgrade any Somber weapon you want to +5. If you're new and don't know which weapon to pick, I recommend upgrading the Bloodhound's Fang you got earlier to +5, which can easily handle any enemy in the early-mid game, though you will need 18 STR and 17 DEX to wield it effectively.
  • If you don't want to use a Somber weapon, that's fine. Just use your preferred weapon instead. If you have a weapon that you'd like to use for your playthrough, I'd still recommend using any Somber weapon +5 for now, while you work on upgrading your weapon of choice in the meantime.
  • I also can't stress enough the value of leveling Vigor early. If you're following the guide and using any Somber weapon +5, then you could even level Vigor all the way up to its first soft cap of 40, which will allow you to tank pretty much anything in the early-mid game, whilst still dealing good damage, making the game much easier.

West Limgrave (Level 10-20)

North Limgrave (Level 15-25)

Weeping Peninsula Level (20-30)

Castle Morne (Level 25-30)

  • Head inside the castle and activate the Castle Morne Lift site of grace.
  • Take the lift up and immediately to your left is a set of stairs leading to a corpse with Smithing Stone [2].
  • Head directly southwest toward the Pumpkin Head and left of the tree is a corpse with Smithing Stone [1] x3.
  • Turn around toward the mound of rubble with all the Misbegotten Warriors and on a ledge just left of the burning stake is a corpse with Fire Grease x2.
  • Head west and go inside for a chest with Claymore by the entrance.
  • Continue down the stairs and climb the ladder up to the rooftop for a corpse with Furlcalling Finger Remedy next to the gallows.
  • Turn northeast for two more enemies and a corpse behind them with Steel-Wire Torch.
  • Head back and climb the western ladder up. Drop down ahead and on the bridge-like section is a corpse with Golden Rune [2] hanging over the edge.
  • Continue ahead, take the first right and climb the ladder down until you reach a corpse with Smithing Stone [2] x2. Watch out for the Misbegotten who will ambush you here.
  • Take the same ladder back up again and from the top of the ladder, head northeast for another ladder. Climb the ladder down and head northeast. In the middle of the battlefield is a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • Make your way up the wooden stairs northeast and talk to Edgar who will give you a Sacrificial Twig for your efforts. Choose to "Deliver Irina's Letter" and he will tell you he can't leave until he's fulfilled his duty here.
  • Drop down southwest and keep heading southwest until you reach a dead end. Step on the bricks to the left, jump over the wall and activate the Behind the Castle site of grace.
  • Drop down twice and instead of jumping over the gap northwest, drop down southwest onto a wooden platform to find a corpse with Stonesword Key.
  • Head into the room on the right for a corpse with Pickled Turtle Neck.
  • Leave the room and continue northwest. Climb the ladder for a chest with Twinblade Talisman.
  • Climb down the same ladder and this time, head southeast and drop down onto the rooftop on your right. On the rooftop edge facing southwest, drop down for a corpse on the ground with Tarnished Golden Sunflower x3.
  • Continue dropping down east until you get to a castle platform. Look down the hole and drop down carefully onto the first wooden ledge for Smithing Stone [2].
  • Drop down carefully to the bottom and pick up Whip from the corpse in the room.
  • Exit the room, immediately turn left up the stairs and activate the Beside the Rampart Gaol site of grace.
  • Continue across the bridge ahead and pick up Throwing Dagger x8.
  • Climb down the ladder north and once you reach the bottom, head southwest around the wall for a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [1].
  • Return to the ladder and this time head north, making sure not to fall into the water, and in a narrow passage surrounded by some crabs is a corpse with Fire Arrow x15.
  • (Optional) Edgar's summon sign can be found just outside the boss door if you gave him Irina's Letter.
  • Enter the boss room and kill Leonine Misbegotten for Grafted Blade Greatsword and 3,800 runes. (2,850 runes if you summoned Edgar.)
  • There are no items in the boss arena, so just go ahead and activate the Morne Moangrave site of grace.
  • Travel to Castle Morne Lift, take the lift up and this time make your way all the way back to Edgar where he was sitting earlier. Exhaust his dialogue and he will move to Irina's original location.
  • Travel to Bridge of Sacrifice and talk to Edgar next to Irina's dead body. Exhaust his dialogue and he will swear revenge upon her killer.
    • You can kill Edgar here if you're heartless. In that case he will only drop his weapon and you'll need to reset the area for the Shabriri Grape to spawn on his corpse. However this will prevent him from invading you later and you'll miss out on 10x Raw Meat Dumpling.
    • I recommend not killing Edgar now. Instead leave him here after exhausting his dialogue and he will invade you at a later location. This way you'll be able to get his Shabriri Grape later along with more items.

Stormveil Castle (Level 30-40)

  • Note: You will need 2 Stonesword Keys to get everything in this section.
  • Travel to Stormhill Shack, head north toward the road and follow it until you reach the castle entrance. Head inside and activate the Castleward Tunnel site of grace.
  • (Optional) Rogier's summon sign can be found just outside of the boss arena.
  • Kill Margit, the Fell Omen for Talisman Pouch and 12,000 runes. (9,000 runes if you summoned Rogier.)
    • Note: If you're struggling you can use Margit's Shackle (sold by Patches for 5,000 runes) to stun him during the fight. It can be used twice, but only works during his first phase.
  • Activate the Margit, the Fell Omen site of grace and continue ahead to activate the Stormveil Main Gate site of grace.
  • Look northeast and head down the stairs for a corpse with Furlcalling Finger Remedy.
  • Turn around and from the top of the staircase, drop down to the wooden platform and down the stairs is a passageway leading to Fire Grease x2.
  • Travel or make your way back to Stormveil Main Gate. Enter the castle, talk to Gostoc and answer "Very well". You can also choose "No, I'll use the main gate" and Gostoc will open the main gate for you. However, you can just open the gate yourself later on.
  • For now, take the hidden path south and immediately to your left next to the Martyr Effigy is Golden Rune [1].
  • Turn around and pick up Ruin Fragment x3 from the ledge ahead.
  • Continue ahead and do not drop down once you reach the broken wall. Instead jump up the broken wall northwest for a corpse with Smithing Stone [2].
  • Drop down southeast and keep heading southeast to drop down twice more. At the bottom, take the northeastern path first for a corpse with Bolt x10 by the cliff.
  • Turn around, follow the path up and to your left is a corpse with Smithing Stone [3] guarded by some Stormhawks.
  • From here, head north and drop down to activate the Stormveil Cliffside site of grace.
  • Continue up toward the wooden stairs and pick up Marred Leather Shield from the corpse on the wooden platform.
  • Head up and before you enter, pick up Golden Rune [2] on the scaffolding past the entrance door.
  • Head inside and now that you've entered the castle, Gostoc spawns in his first location and takes 30% of your runes every time you die inside the castle. Pick up Hookclaws from a corner in the floor room.
  • Walk up the stairs, being mindful of the Commoners throwing fire pots at you, and in the passageway next to the locked door is a corpse with Throwing Dagger x5.
  • Turn around and on the wall next to the stairs leading up is a hole covered in vines. Jump through the hole and pick up St. Trina's Arrow x10.
  • There are no items on the other side of the hole, so just drop down again onto the stairs and pick up Smoldering Butterfly x3 from a corpse in the middle of the barrels.
  • Head up two sets of stairs and roll through the wooden boxes to reveal a second platform you can drop to for a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • Make your way back up all the stairs and enter the door at the top. Gostoc will lock you inside with a Banished Knight. Kill the knight to make the door unlockable again. Pick up Rusty Key from the corpse and open the chest for Curved Sword Talisman.
  • (Missable!) Exit the room and drop down northwest through the floor. Use the Rusty Key to open the door. Climb the ladder and go through the doorway at the top of the ladder. This is the second spawning point for Gostoc, so climb the ladder back down and from the door you just unlocked, head straight ahead and drop down. Talk to Gostoc and he will give you a Grace Mimic.
  • Make your way back up the ladder and take the northwestern path. Be wary of the Commoner trying to ambush you from the corner and pick up Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot just before heading outside.
  • Go outside and instead of going up the stairs, follow the ledge with the stone pillars around for a corpse with Mushroom x3.
  • Head up the stairs and before heading inside, in the corner outside of the doorway are some vines on the floor. Stand on top of the vines, look down and carefully drop to the ledge below. Follow the path and jump to the hole covered in vines for Arteria Leaf x3.
  • Jump onto the wooden plank inside and head southeast across another wooden plank for a corpse with Fire Grease.
  • Turn around and next to the wooden plank you walked across, turn southwest and jump onto the wooden platform. Head outside, down the stairs and inside is Brick Hammer.
  • Drop down and make your way all the way back up to where you dropped down from the vines. This time, head inside and up the stairs past the Banished Knight. Enter the northern room and activate the Rampart Tower site of grace.
  • Rest if you need to and head outside toward the Stormhawks. Take the first left up some stairs onto a small balcony and carefully jump down southwest onto a stone platform below. Walk around the platform north and drop down onto a thin ledge in the wall. Continue ahead and drop down once more for Marred Wooden Shield.
  • Drop down twice onto the grassy platform and look below you. Aim to drop down at the platform below you. Once you land, there will be a an Ash of War Scarab you can kill to get the Ash of War: Storm Assault.
  • Continue southeast and in the left alcove is a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [2].
  • Kill the Crucible Knight for Aspects of the Crucible: Horns. If you want to play it safe, you could run past him to grab the elevator lift first.
  • Continue ahead and take the lift up. Look southwest and pick up Drawstring Fire Grease x2 from the corpse behind the lift when taken to the top.
  • Head up the stairs next to the lift and once you reach the top, jump across the elevator wheels to reach a corpse with Throwing Dagger x5.
  • Continue ahead and outside on a wooden platform is a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • From the corpse, face northeast and jump onto the stone fence. Follow the stone fence forward and make a right turn toward the southeastern wall, then turn northeast and jump onto the thin ledge of a tower in front of you. Head around the ledge to get inside the tower and drop down inside for a Stonesword Key.
  • Jump out of the tower and northeast on the rooftop is a corpse with the Dozing Cross-Legged gesture.
  • From the corpse with the gesture, head directly west toward a thin ledge you can jump on. Follow the ledge around the tower until you reach a corpse with Smithing Stone [2] x2.
  • Head back the same way, but jump onto the first rooftop. Jump up the two pillars and follow the ledge to a section with multiple Exile Soldiers. Climb the ladder in the middle to pick up Claw Talisman from the top of the tower.
  • Travel to Rampart Tower and head outside toward the Stormhawks again. At the end of the rampart is a corpse with Smithing Stone [2] behind some barrels, but watch out for the Stormhawk ambushing you here.
  • Head down the stairs and on the rooftop is a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • From the corpse, look southeast and jump toward the lower part of the roof and pick up Kukri x5.
  • (Missable!) Head inside through the windows and talk to Rogier. Choose "I'm here to defeat Godrick" and after speaking with him, immediately travel back to Rampart Tower. DO NOT rest at the grace as that will despawn him. Head back to the lift and Gostoc will be there. Talk to him and he will no longer stalk you through the castle.
  • Make your way back to Rogier and buy any ashes you need from him:
  • Exit the church and continue until you get to a castle room with Golden Rune [2] x2 on a corpse in the middle.
  • Continue ahead until you reach a room with a Banished Knight. Open the chest inside containing a Mimic's Veil.
  • Head back outside through the northwestern entrance and to your left, climb the sacks and pick up Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot from the corpse on the stone balcony.
  • Head up the wooden stairs and where the wooden platform ends is a ladder on your left. Climb the ladder, run straight ahead and drop down onto the Exile Soldier below. Continue into the dark room to find a corpse with Stonesword Key along with a chest containing Pickled Turtle Neck x3.
  • Turn around and head back the same way. Open the shortcut and head down the stairs to the main room. On the ground floor, below the staircase is a corpse with Exalted Flesh.
  • Kill the Grafted Scion in the room (he won't respawn) and in the main room you can find:
  • At the western end of the room is a lift that will take you back up to Rampart Tower. Rest at the grace if you need to and take the same lift back down.
  • From the lift, head into the first room on your right to pick up Crimson Hood, Golden Rune [1], and Lump of Flesh from three separate corpses.
    • If you haven't been following the guide and Roderika still hasn't moved to Roundtable Hold, then you will find the Chrysalid's Memento here instead. You'll then need to follow her questline at the roundtable until she becomes a spirit tuner. She will then throw away her Crimson Hood, which you can then return here to pick up.
  • (Requires: 1 Stonesword Key) Exit the room and head straight ahead for another room left of the lift. Unlock the Imp Seal and in the room you can find:
  • Head back outside of the room and pick up Somber Smithing Stone [2] from the corpse below the statue.
  • Go back to the main room where you fought the Grafted Scion and this time, head through the northern room and immediately to your left for another room leading to a corpse on the wooden platforms with Arrow x10.
  • Drop down and head outside. Ignore the courtyard for now and immediately turn left outside for a cellar entrance. Inside the cellar is a corpse with Fireproof Dried Liver.
  • (Requires: 1 Stonesword Key) Unlock the Imp Seal in front of you and open the two chests for Godslayer's Seal and Godskin Prayerbook.
  • Head outside and on the corpse hanging over the edge is Golden Rune [4]. Make a note of this area, because you'll come back and drop down here later.
  • For now, turn around and to the left of the entrance is a ladder. Climb it and hidden behind a barrel is Arrow x10.
  • Continue ahead until you reach another ladder you can climb. At the top of the ladder is a corpse with Festering Bloody Finger x3.
  • Continue past the two Banished Knights and across the wooden bridge for another ladder you can climb. At the top is a wooden platform with Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [10].
  • From here, jump toward the top of the wooden guardtower and drop down the hole in front of you for a corpse with Wooden Greatshield.
  • Ignore all the enemies here and head directly northwest from the bottom of the stairs toward the big tree. Look north and pick up Mushroom x8 beside the stairs.
  • Head around and walk up the stairs in front of you for a corpse with Furlcalling Finger Remedy.
  • West from the top of the stairs, is a narrow passageway leading to a corpse with an item and a room with the next grace. Head into the room first and activate the Liftside Chamber site of grace.
  • Pick up Smithing Stone [1] x2 from the corpse in the narrow passageway just outside.
  • Head down the stairs, fight all the enemies here and in the courtyard you can find:
  • From the corpse with the Golden Rune [4], head down east and kill the guards near the entrance for a corpse with Kukri x5.
  • Don't go any further from here, turn around and head directly west instead toward a second guardtower with Fire Arrow x12.
  • From here, drop down and head southeast back through the cellar. Walk all the way back toward the spot you noted earlier and instead of climbing up the ladder this time, drop down northeast, take out the ballista exiles and pick up Smithing Stone [2] in front of the wall near the three ballistas.
  • Walk down a set of stairs to find a corpse with Smithing Stone [1].
  • Continue down all the stairs and when you reach the bottom head southeast toward a door opening for Golden Rune [5] in front of a hole.
  • Turn the wheel to open the main gate if Gostoc didn't already do it for you, and activate the Gateside Chamber site of grace. If you rest at the grace you will need to take out the three ballista exiles up the stairs again.
  • From the grace, head east through the door for a corpse with Commoner's Simple Garb.
  • Head to the gate entrance and finally pick up Ballista Bolt x5, Golden Rune [2], and Golden Rune [1] from the three separate corpses.
  • Make your way up the main entrance and just before the three Exile Soldiers guarding the door ahead, turn east and kill the Lion Guardian in the corner for Somber Smithing Stone [1], Beast Blood, and Old Fang x2.
  • Head through the northeastern entrance and activate the Limgrave Tower Bridge site of grace for later.
  • Head back to the area where you fought the Lion Guardian and continue through the northern doorway. Jump up the rocks left of the stairs to the top, then jump quickly east toward the other cliff and onto the walled area to reach the Arbalest. You'll need to be quick, as the enemies operating the ballistas are no joke.
  • Travel to Liftside Chamber and kill the Omen at the bottom of the stairs to avoid dealing with him later. Head up the stairs east and past the first Warhawk, take the left stairs up toward a corpse with Smithing Stone [2].
  • Head back down the stairs and continue southeast toward a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • (Missable!) Look south toward a doorway to find Nepheli inside. Make sure you talk to her here, else you might miss out on a talisman later!
  • Pick up Smithing Stone [1] x4 from the corpse in the corner of the same room.
  • Head back outside and toward east for a Golden Seed at the base of the golden tree.
  • From the golden tree, head directly north toward an alleyway between the houses for a corpse with Smithing Stone [2].
  • Aggro the Troll on the stairs and make him follow you all the way back toward the fallen statue where you killed the Omen earlier. Bait the Troll into attacking the statue to get 5x Smithing Stone [1] and Smithing Stone [2] from the same pickup.
  • Head all the way back up the stairs where the Troll was originally located, and enter the room on the right. Activate the Secluded Cell site of grace in the room.
  • From here, head southwest through the other doorway and kill the Ash of War Scarab ahead to get the Ash of War: Stormcaller.
  • Kill the Living Jar Warrior in the back to receive Living Jar Shard and Raw Meat Dumpling the first time you kill it.
  • Behind the jars are 2x Cracked Pot from two separate pickups.
  • Through the southern doorway is an unnecessary lift leading back to Liftside Chamber. Take it if you want, but continue northeast from the cracked pots to find Kukri x8 on a wooden platform.
  • Jump onto the thin ledge northeast of the wooden platform. Follow the ledge and jump off toward the ledge with two doorways. Continue southeast for a corpse with Lump of Flesh x3 next to a Banished Knight and a Stormhawk.
  • Jump up the sacks to get back and head inside the doorway on your left. Once you reach the top of the stairs, turn around for a ledge you can jump to for Smithing Stone [2] x3.
  • Jump back and continue ahead to pick up Golden Rune [2] and Smithing Stone [1] from two separate corpses.
  • Head inside the doorway and at the bottom of the stairs inside is a corpse with Manor Towershield.
  • Go outside for a corpse with Smithing Stone [3].
  • Turn south and jump onto the thin ledge on the wall. Keep dropping down all the way and past the tower entrance is a corpse hanging off the wall you need to jump onto for Golden Rune [5].
  • Head inside and pick up Rainbow Stone x5. East in front of you is a shortcut door you can open leading back to Liftside Chamber.
  • From the corpse, look south and jump onto the broken rooftop platforms to get to a corpse with Arteria Leaf on the other side, guarded by a bat.
  • Head down the stairs and do a running jump onto the stone ledge leading to a corpse with Smithing Stone [2] x2.
  • Drop down onto the wooden platforms and pick up Golden Rune [2] at the bottom.
  • Continue ahead and take the right path behind the Giant Rat to find a corpse with Poisonbloom x3.
  • Continue around and kill the Glintstone Scarab to get the Rancorcall sorcery.
  • Drop down to the large arena below and kill the Ulcerated Tree Spirit here for Golden Seed.
  • Pick up Smoldering Butterfly x3, Stonesword Key, and Throwing Dagger x8 from the three separate corpses in the room.
  • Continue ahead and pick up Prince of Death's Pustule from the corpse.
  • (Optional) Turn around and interact with the bloodstain in front of the corpse for additional dialogue with Rogier and Fia later.
  • Travel to the Secluded Cell and prepare for a boss fight:
  • Activate the Godrick the Grafted site of grace in the middle of the arena and talk to Gostoc who now permanently relocates here.
  • Head into the throne room and continue inside until you reach the bottom. Pick up the Shabriri Grape next to the ghost.
  • Head outside toward Lake-Facing Cliffs and talk to Hyetta just northwest of the grace. Choose "Give a Shabriri Grape" to receive the As You Wish gesture.
  • (Optional) Talk to Boc next to the grace and alter any garments with him free of charge if you want.
  • Travel to Limgrave Tower Bridge and head up the stairs for a corpse with Boltdrake Talisman.
  • Continue across the bridge and in the damaged crater section before the Archer Golem is a pickup with Warming Stone.
  • Climb back up and instead of taking the portal, drop down behind it to pick up Soft Cotton and Ash-of-War Scarab from two separate corpses.
  • Climb back up once more and use the portal to reach the other side of the bridge. Turn around and on the second balcony to your left is a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • Continue further and pick up Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot from the corpse guarded by two Stormhawks.
  • At the end of the bridge is a corpse with Stormhawk Feather x5 hanging over the right side edge.
  • Run all the way back to where you got teleported to, take the lift up and activate the Divine Tower of Limgrave site of grace.
  • Head all the way to the top and interact with the Great Rune. Choose "Restore the power of the Great Rune" to receive Godrick's Great Rune.
    • Note: Now that you've activated your first Great Rune, you can equip it at any site of grace and start using Rune Arcs to activate its effects. Similar to Embers from Dark Souls 3, the effect of Great Runes are lost on death, so you'll need to use a new Rune Arc every time you die to gain back the effects of your equipped Great Rune.

Fringefolk Hero's Grave (Level 35-40)

  • Note: You will need 2 Stonesword Keys and a bow or crossbow (including arrows or bolts) to get everything in this section.
    • Longbow can be bought from the Twin Maiden Husks for 1,200 runes, if you don't have any bows/crossbows, and it can be used regardless of its level requirements.
  • Travel to Roundtable Hold and turn around. Head into the new room and interact with the Two Fingers to receive the Rapture gesture.
  • Talk to Enia and after exhausting her dialogue, you can optionally use the Remembrance of the Grafted to exchange for either:
    • Axe of Godrick: 1 Remembrance of the Grafted
    • Grafted Dragon: 1 Remembrance of the Grafted and 2,000 runes
    • Note: Remembrance of the Grafted can only be duplicated at Mausoleums with a bell or a duplication coffin in the DLC. Additionally, this remembrance can be used or sold to gain 20,000 runes if you don't want to exchange it for any of the items.
    • Additional note: Remembrances can only be exchanged once per item in the same playthrough, so I recommend only duplicating if you want both items. There are many more remembrances (25) than there are Mausoleums and coffins (10), so choose wisely.
  • (Missable!) Exit the room and head through the northern corridor to find Nepheli next to a table. Exhaust her dialogue and she will give you the Arsenal Charm.
  • Talk to Gideon in his study and he will give you information on every shardbearer he knows the location of. Talk to him "About Nepheli".
  • Head back to the main room and go up the northeastern stairs on the balcony to find Rogier:
    • Telling him "I've defeated Godrick" will reward you with Rogier's Rapier+8.
    • Talk to him "About the corpse under Stormveil" to trigger dialogue about the black knifeprints with Fia.
    • If you exhaust his dialogue "About D", he will additionally drop Rogier's Letter when he dies, detailing the whereabouts of D's brother.
  • Drop down from the balcony onto the floor below and you will be invaded by Mad Tongue Alberich. Let him finish his bow before attacking him to receive the otherwise missable Reverential Bow gesture, then kill him for Taunter's Tongue.
  • In the same area you can also find a side room leading to a corpse with Cipher Pata.
  • Return to the roundtable and talk to Fia. Let her hold you, then choose "Talk in secret", "Do you know...?" and "About the Black Knifeprint" to receive the Knifeprint Clue.
    • Don't forget to use the Baldachin's Blessing she gives you to remove the otherwise permanent HP debuff.
  • (Optional) You can also talk to D "About Rogier" for some extra lore now that you've spoken with Rogier.
  • Travel to Church of Vows, make sure it's daytime and give Miriel the Godskin Prayerbook you picked up earlier in Stomveil Castle. This will expand his inventory to sell:
  • Travel to Church of Pilgrimage. Optionally rest at the grace, equip Godrick's Great Rune and use a Rune Arc to activate it if you haven't done so already it. Behind the church and left of the broken pillar is the landmark depicted in the "Prophecy" Painting you picked up in stormveil. Pick up Warhawk Ashes from the ground where the artist disappears.
  • From here, look northeast and jump down onto the stone ledge behind the broken stone pillar. Drop down carefully once more and head west past the Land Octopuses. Pick up Bewitching Branch x3 and Sliver of Meat from the two corpses surrounded by bats.
  • Travel to Seaside Ruins. Head north-northwest toward the rock with bats and turn to face the cliff. Carefully drop down using Torrent's double jump to land on one of the stone ledges hidden below the cliff. Keep dropping down and kill the Alabaster Lord roaming the beach to get the Ash of War: Gravitas.
  • Head west past the fallen pillar for a corpse with Lump of Flesh x3 next to some crabs.
  • Go back to where you fought the Alabaster Lord and head northwest toward a cave opening. Pick up the Haligdrake Talisman hanging off a ledge inside the cave.
  • (Requires: 2 Stonesword Keys) Drop down and continue through the door ahead until you reach a grace. Open the Imp Seal that you ignored at the start of the game and enter Fringefolk Hero's Grave:
    • Climb the ladder down and run past the poison. Wait for the chariot to appear and pick up Poisonbone Dart x5 from the corpse.
    • Make your way down while avoiding the Chariot until you reach a thin bridge-like section with an item on it. Ignore this item for now and drop down to the ledge below the stone bridge. Continue past the fire-breathing statue and into the northwestern room for Lightning Grease x2.
    • Continue ahead and in the next room past the stone bridge is a corpse with Erdtree's Favor. Be wary of the double Grafted Scion ambush (they won't respawn if you kill them, but just ignore them if you want your sanity intact).
    • Run back across the bridge and drop down onto a stone ledge below where the bridge begins. Drop down once more and take the lift up to a corpse with Stonesword Key.
    • Kill the Banished Knight, then look southwest from where he was to spot three giant pots hanging from the ceiling. Equip your bow, crossbow or any other ranged weapon. When the Chariot crashes into the wall beneath you, causing the screen to shake, aim for the rope holding one of the pots and shoot it down so that it lands onto the Chariot, destroying it and rewarding you with Erdtree Greatbow and Great Arrow x10.
      • If you failed all three attemps at killing the Chariot, then you will need to travel back to Stranded Graveyard and make your way back here to retry.
    • With the Chariot dead, you are free to explore everything here. Drop down and pick up Golden Rune [5] from the bridge you ignored earlier.
    • Continue past the bridge and follow the path all the way to the top first. Kill the Banished Knight for Dragon Communion Seal and pick up Dragonwound Grease from the corpse in the same room.
    • Head all the way down, picking up the Grave Glovewort [1] along the way.
    • Head inside the boss room and kill the Ulcerated Tree Spirit for Golden Seed, Banished Knight Oleg and 15,000 runes.
  • (Missable!) Return to the entrance and take the lift up, or just travel to The First Step. Interact with the message left behind by Varré to receive the Bravo! gesture.
  • If you've completed every step until now, then you are 100% done with Limgrave.

South Liurnia (Level 40-45)

West Liurnia (Level 40-45)

Central Liurnia (Level 45-50)

Academy of Raya Lucaria (Level 50-60)

  • Starting from the Main Academy Gate, head inside and take the elevator up. Before going up the stairs into the academy, make a right turn from the courtyard for Magic Grease.
  • Head up the stairs and open the doors to the academy. Hit the illusory wall immediately to your right and pick up Rune Arc from the room behind.
  • In the southwestern side of the room is an alcove with Golden Rune [2]. Turn around and pick up Somber Smithing Stone [3] hidden behind the altar.
  • Continue into the corridor past the room and activate the Church of the Cuckoo site of grace.
  • Head into the school graveyard and make a left turn for Grace Mimic x3 on a corpse sitting on the edge.
  • Turn east and drop down for a corpse with Spellproof Dried Liver in front of a gravestone.
  • From here, head southeast toward a tree and follow the path behind it to a corpse with Smithing Stone [4].
  • Make your way toward the bridge and after crossing it, drop down left for a corpse with Marionette Soldier Ashes on a ledge with two Marionette Soldiers.
  • Drop down and pick up Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot from the corpse on the ground below.
  • Continue southeast and run up the slanted gravestones for a corpse with Golden Rune [4], behind you just after dropping down.
  • Kill the Ash of War Scarab ahead to get the Ash of War: Spectral Lance, and continue southeast until you reach a corpse with Mushroom x5 tucked behind some gravestones.
  • Head west-southwest, ignore the entrance to the next area and pick up Magic Grease x2 below the tree.
  • Continue west-southwest and drop down past the big gravestone to find a corpse with the Carian Knight Set.
  • Head up the hill and straight ahead for Golden Rune [4] hidden behind a ledge.
  • Drop down to the previous area and continue ahead. Kill the Alabaster Lord for the Gravity Well sorcery and pick up Somber Smithing Stone [3] from the altar.
  • Turn around and take the waterwheel up. Jump off the lift and pick up Crystal Dart x5 from the alcove right after jumping off.
  • Continue up the stairs and activate the Schoolhouse Classroom site of grace. Spend all your runes now, because you will die on purpose in the next section without being able to get them back.
  • Head back out the same stairs and follow the path uphill for a Golden Rune [4] near the top of the wheel.
  • Jump onto the waterwheel and ride it down. Face north and jump off to a platform below for Golden Rune [3] and Avionette Soldier Ashes from two separate corpses.
  • Make your way back onto the wheel and this time, ride it all the way down until you fall off. Pick up Smithing Stone [5] from the corpse where you land.
  • Ignore the Abductor Virgin and jump up the crystals northwest for a corpse with Lost Ashes of War in front of a gravestone.
  • Drop back down and pick up Longtail Cat Talisman from the area behind the Abductor Virgin.
  • Approach the Abductor Virgin and die inside its grab attack to be transported to a new location (only works if you die during the grab animation):
    • Make your way across the lava to find a corpse with Smoldering Butterfly x5 surrounded by bats.
    • Continue down the tunnel ahead until you reach a structure deep within the cave. Head up the stairs and activate the Subterranean Inquisition Chamber site of grace.
    • Jump down and pick up Smithing Stone [4] from one of the pillars in the lava.
    • Make your way southwest across the lava for a corpse with Smithing Stone [6] next to a cage.
    • Now that you've picked up all the items, head down the broken floor in the cave and kill the Abductor Virgin duo for Inquisitor's Girandole and 10,000 runes.
      • This fight can feel frustrating, so feel free to return here later if the boss is too difficult now.
    • Head past the boss room and activate the Abductor Virgin site of grace.
      • Warning: Exiting the cave and activating any grace beyond this point will trigger the festival in Caelid, advancing multiple questlines. None should fail, but you will miss out on optional steps in Alexander and Blaidd's questlines, as they will be forcefully moved to Redmane Castle, as well as optional diaoluge with Jerren and Iji. Additionally, exploration of the castle will be locked until the main boss there has been defeated.
  • Travel back to Schoolhouse Classroom and enter the academy. Turn left for a room with Conspectus Scroll and a chest containing Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [5].
  • Hit the Illusory Bookshelf behind the corpse with the scroll and pick up Smithing Stone [4] from the balcony.
  • Turn north and jump over the balcony fence. Continue ahead, climb the rocks and remember to jump across a gap at the end for Olivinus Glintstone Crown.
  • Head back inside and follow the corridor until you reach a room with several Glintstone Sorcerers. Open the chest in the room containing a Ritual Pot.
  • Continue up the stairs and pick up Furlcalling Finger Remedy from a corpse on the balcony.
  • Head up the second set of stairs on the left side, then hit the illusory bookshelf to reveal a room with a chest containing the Comet sorcery, and a corpse with Stonesword Key behind an altar.
  • Climb the ladder in the same room and jump down east at the very end for a hole leading to Graven-School Talisman in front of some crystals.
  • Open the doors and make your way to the boss. Kill the Red Wolf of Radagon for Memory Stone and 14,000 runes.
  • Activate the Debate Parlor site of grace in the same room. Make sure to rest here and pass time until nightfall for a nighttime boss soon.
  • Head into the courtyard and pick up Stonesword Key from a corpse on top of the fountain.
  • Continue north to find a corpse with Glintstone Firefly x5.
  • Head west-northwest toward a tree and in a corner to the right is Golden Rune [2], but be wary of the Giant Crab ambushing you here.
  • Behind the tower next to you is a corpse with Golden Rune [4].
  • Continue toward the golden tree and pick up the Golden Seed below it.
  • Head southwest from here, and in a corner is a Glintstone Crab that drops Karolos Glintstone Crown when killed.
  • Head back to the courtyard and go east toward the curved staircase. Jump onto the stone beams and run up the staircase, picking up Furlcalling Finger Remedy on the way. You can ignore the rest of the items here for now, as you'll get them later.
  • Kill Moongrum, Carian Knight for Carian Knight's Shield. Behind him is the elevator to the boss, but avoid it until you're done with the academy.
  • Take the southern path through the elevated walkway for a shortcut door leading to the main courtyard. Turn around and head back the same way you came for a Golden Rune [4] behind a Twinsage Sorcerer.
  • Look east-southeast and jump over the fence for a room with a ladder. Head up the stairs first to open a shortcut door, then climb the ladder to take out the Glintstone Sorcerers who summon the giant ball (they won't respawn). Open the chest in the back of the room containing Glintstone Scarab.
  • Head out on the small balcony and jump down once to find a corpse with Golden Rune [7] below it.
  • Drop down once more, make sure it's still nighttime from earlier and take the portal to Church of Vows. Kill the Bell Bearing Hunter for Meat Peddler's Bell Bearing and 6,000 runes.
    • Note: This specific boss seems to be a really inconsistent spawn compared to the other Bell Bearing Hunters. However, using the portal from the academy during nighttime should always work, which is why I've decided to include him as part of the academy. You can do this fight at any time if he's too difficult right now.
  • Now that you're here, you can give the Conspectus Scroll to Miriel after resting, and he will expand his inventory to sell:
  • Since you've picked up the Celestial Dew from the academy bridge, you can also talk to Miriel and "Show Celestial Dew" for some extra lore. Doing this unlocks two new dialogue options. If you've accidentally aggro'ed any NPCs and you haven't killed them, then you can interact with the statue in the middle and use a Celestial Dew to atone. Any previously hostile NPCs will then become friendly again.
  • Giving the Meat Peddler's Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks will expand their inventory to sell an unlimited amount of:
  • Travel back to Debate Parlor and when heading back into the courtyard, turn right and jump over the southern part of the fence. Climb the ladder and head left first once inside to find a corpse with Crystal Bud x5.
  • On the other side is a chest containing the Radagon Icon.
  • Head outside and pick up Golden Rune [4] from a corpse on the balcony.
  • Drop down from the eastern side of the balcony and pick up Living Jar Shard x3, alongside Cracked Pot from the two corpses.
  • Head down the stairs and up a set of stairs covered in rubble. In the room straight ahead is a corpse with Glintstone Whetblade.
  • Continue up the southern set of stairs for a corpse with Golden Rune [2].
  • Head up to the walkway where you opened the shortcut earlier and jump over the fence, facing west. Turn around once you land and open a new shortcut to the courtyard. Head back up the stairs and pick up Golden Rune [3] from a corpse hanging over the fence.
  • Jump down to the rooftop below and continue until you reach a ladder. In the corner behind it is a corpse with Golden Rune [4].
  • Climb the ladder and pick up Crystal Dart x5 from the corpse ahead.
  • Head around the structure ahead and pick up Meteor Bolt x5 before you drop down.
  • Drop down to the rooftop below, and then once more to another rooftop. From here, you're gonna do a difficult jump. Make sure that you're holding down the sprint button during the entire jump for the longest distance. Facing west, jump across the gap to the rooftop ahead.
  • From here, head down the southern path with the Marionette Soldiers first. Make your way down the rooftops and once you're at the final rooftop, jump the gap to the ledge ahead. Be wary of the Marionette Soldier ambush once inside, then climb the ladder to reach a chest with Full Moon Crossbow at the top of the tower.
  • Turn around, minding the gap in the middle, and do a sprint jump over the western fence. From here, make sure you drop to the correct rooftop below to find a corpse with Smithing Stone [4].
  • Drop down two more rooftops and you're now back where you made the difficult jump earlier. Do the difficult jump again and this time, jump to the western rooftop. Make your way to the tower ahead and once inside, carefully drop down twice for a Glintstone Crab that drops Lazuli Glintstone Crown when killed.
  • Drop down all the way to the bottom for a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [4].
    • Note: It's unfortunately impossible to get every item from the rooftops in a single run. You either choose between getting a Golden Rune [4] or the Glintstone Crown. Since this guide covers all items, you'll have to run back to the rooftop section again. If you don't want to run all the way back for a meager Golden Rune [4], then you can skip the next step and climb the ladder outside instead to get to the Imbued Sword Key and Smithing Stones, without having to backtrack.
  • Travel to Debate Parlor and make your way back to the rooftop where you previously made the difficult jumps. This time however, drop down to the northern rooftop instead. Continue dropping down until you get to the marionette soldiers and pick up Golden Rune [4] from the roof furthest back.
  • Head back to where the first Marionette Soldier was standing and drop down east onto the platform below. Pick up Imbued Sword Key from the corpse ahead.
  • Look north and jump to the ledge in front of you. Make your way around the structure for a corpse with Smithing Stone [3] x2.
  • Turn back and jump onto the large church roof below. On the northwestern end of the roof is a corpse with Magic Grease x2.
  • Head inside the church through the windows and pick up Golden Rune [3] from the rafters.
  • Look down and carefully drop to the chandelier with the Academy Glintstone Key.
  • Drop down to the small bridge below and head outside for a Glintstone Crab you can kill to get the Twinsage Glintstone Crown.
  • Head back inside and across the small bridge again. Kick down the shortcut ladder and pick up the Shattering Crystal sorcery from the corpse ahead.
  • Cross the second bridge and head through the walkway, but be wary of the Page that can easily kill you with his crossbow. Pick up Azur's Glintstone Staff in front of the mass of Graven Mages.
  • Now that you've acquired a second Academy Glintstone Key, travel to Lake-Facing Cliffs and give it to Thops in Church of Irith to receive the Erudition gesture. You can also talk to him "About the glintstone key" and "About Sellen" while you still have the chance.
  • Quit and reload the game, or travel to any grace to reset the area and an Ash of War Scarab will now have appeared inside the church. Kill it to get the Ash of War: Thops's Barrier.
  • Travel to Schoolhouse Classroom and head outside to find Thops dead in front of a table. Pick up Thops's Bell Bearing, Academy Glintstone Staff, and Thops's Barrier from his body, which concludes his questline. If you didn't buy any of his sorceries, you can now buy them from the Twin Maiden Husks after giving them his bell bearing.
  • Travel to Debate Parlor and head back into the courtyard. Make your way onto the curved staircase and pick up Smithing Stone [5] from the corpse on the bottom.
  • Continue up the staircase to find a corpse with Crystal Dart x8 on a broken stone beam.
  • Head up the stairs and take the lift to the boss. Defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon for Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen, Great Rune of the Unborn and 40,000 runes.
  • Activate the Raya Lucaria Grand Library site of grace and talk to the now friendly Rennala. Select "Cosmetics", followed by "Finish Cosmetics" to receive the Balled Up gesture (you don't need to change your cosmetics to get it).
    • Note: You can now also respec your character's stats as many times as you want costing 1 Larval Tear each time, by selecting "Rebirth".
  • Don't worry about the locked chest as it's part of a longer questline much later. There are no other items in this room.
  • Travel to Roundtable Hold and talk to Enia to receive a second Talisman Pouch. You can also talk to her "About Queen Marika" if you want.
  • Optionally use the Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen with Enia to exchange for either:
    • Carian Regal Scepter: 1 Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen
    • Rennala's Full Moon: 1 Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen
    • Note: Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen can only be duplicated at Mausoleums with a bell or a duplication coffin in the DLC. Additionally, this remembrance can be used or sold to gain 20,000 runes if you don't want to exchange it for any of the items.
  • Enia additionally sells Rennala's equipment:
  • (Optional) Now that you've acquired 2 Great Runes, Corhyn will have some new dialogue about leaving soon.
  • (Optional) Similarly, Gideon will also have some new dialogue.
  • You can also give Nepheli the Stormhawk King that we picked up earlier to continue her questline. However, doing this will lock you out of getting Nepheli Loux Puppet later.
    • I recommend giving her the Stormhawk King now if you're on your first playthrough, then getting her puppet on a second or third playthrough instead. Though, if you want the choice between finishing her questline or turning her into a puppet (failing her questline), then I suggest waiting to give her the Stormhawk King until later, when you'll have the option of choosing either.

East Liurnia (Level 50-55)

Caria Manor (Level 55-60)

  • Note: You will need 1 of each Grave Glovewort: [1], [2], [3], [4], and at least 3 Starlight Shards to get everything in this section.
  • Travel to Roundtable Hold, talk to Rogier and "Give the Black Knifeprint". Reset the area and talk to him again to get the knifeprint back. Ask him about "Ranni's whereabouts", "Why do you want a cursemark?", and "About D".
  • After giving Rogier the Black Knifeprint, talk to Fia, let her hold you and ask "About Rogier" to receive a Sacrificial Twig.
    • Note: Don't forget to use the Baldachin's Blessing she gives you, if you don't want the HP debuff.
  • Now that you have Grave Gloveworts [1-4], talk to Roderika and upgrade any regular spirit ash to +4. Select "Talk" afterwards to receive the Curtsy gesture. Hewg will then have some additional dialogue about her.
  • Travel to Bestial Sanctum and talk to Gurranq. Give him two more Deathroots to receive the Ash of War: Beast's Roar along with the Bestial Vitality incantation.
  • Rest at the grace and prepare for a fight. Since you've given Gurranq four Deathroots, he will become hostile. This fight is overpowering, but you only need to deal a fraction of his HP until he yields. Talk to him and he will become friendly again. (If you can't interact with him, just rest at the grace instead.)
  • Travel to the Main Caria Manor Gate and head north-northwest inside the manor for Rimed Crystal Bud x5. Be wary of the large Fingercreeper in the ground!
  • Head east and pick up Smithing Stone [2] x3 from a corpse in front of the fountain, guarded by two large Fingercreepers.
  • Continue north for a corpse with Golden Rune [4] along the path. Watch out for the large Fingercreeper ambushing you from above!
  • Turn and continue southeast until you reach a corpse with Rimed Crystal Bud x2.
  • From here, head south-southwest for a corpse with Rimed Crystal Bud x3 behind a tree.
  • Go up the stairs southeast and into a small room for Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [6].
  • Exit the room and continue up the next staircase. Follow the path straight ahead to find a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [3] at the end of the alley.
  • Go back and take the other path for a ledge you can drop down from. Drop down and head north-northwest past the Fingercreepers toward a Glintstone Scarab that drops the Carian Piercer sorcery when killed.
  • On a ledge behind the large rock next to the Scarab is a corpse with Ice Crest Shield.
  • Head northwest to round the corner while minding your steps, then turn west until you reach a corpse with Rimed Crystal Bud x2.
  • From here, look south and behind the crystals ahead is a corpse with Glintstone Firefly x6.
  • Turn northwest and continue until you reach the stairs that lead inside the manor. Head up another set of stairs and activate the Manor Lower Level site of grace.
  • Look behind the altar in the same room to find a corpse with Smithing Stone [4].
  • Continue outside onto the rampart walkway and once the path splits, cross the northeastern side first for a Rune Arc behind the tower structure.
  • Turn northwest and instead of crossing the walkway again, jump onto the rooftop below it. Drop down to another rooftop with a ladder and climb it down to find a chest containing the Sword of Night and Flame.
  • Open the shortcut door and travel back to Manor Lower Level. Head back outside and across the other rampart walkway until you reach a set of stairs, but before you take them up, look southeast and do a sprinting jump to a wooden platform below for Rimed Crystal Bud x8.
  • Below the northeastern staircase is a corpse with Golden Rune [3].
  • Head down the other staircase and pick up Urumi from the small alcove next to some Fingercreepers.
  • Continue ahead and drop down from the wooden platform past an Abductor Virgin, to reach a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [3].
  • Travel to Manor Lower Level again and make your way back to the set of stairs you ignored earlier. Take the lift up and activate the Manor Upper Level site of grace.
  • Step outside and into a small garden for a Golden Seed and a corpse with Rimed Crystal Bud x3 in front of a tree.
  • Go up the stairs ahead, but instead of going through the doorway, look left and climb up the ladder for a corpse with Magic Grease x2 hanging over the edge.
  • Drop down and kill the Troll Knight to receive a guaranteed Troll Knight's Sword the first time you kill him.
  • Head up the staircase behind the Troll Knight and turn east for a platform you can drop down to with Smithing Stone [4].
  • Ascend the stairs once more and pick up Rimed Crystal Bud x5 from the left staircase behind a page.
  • Pick up Golden Rune [4] from the midsection at the top between the stairs.
  • Turn around and enter the boss arena. Kill Royal Knight Loretta for Loretta's Greatbow, the Ash of War: Loretta's Slash and 10,000 runes (Killing her also disables the magic defense outside the manor).
  • Activate the Royal Moongazing Grounds site of grace and head back the way you came. Turn south-southwest through a small doorway and jump down the wooden platforms to the ground below. Pick up Cracked Pot along with Crystal Dart x8 from two separate corpses.
  • Continue dropping down and pick up Smithing Stone [3] from a corpse hidden behind a small tree, guarded by two Living Jar Warriors.
  • Drop down once more and jump to a rooftop below. Hanging on the ledge is a corpse with the Ash of War: Carian Grandeur.
  • Travel back to Royal Moongazing Grounds and head through the doorway past the boss. Take the eastern path first, until you reach a Glintstone Scarab that drops the Frozen Armament sorcery.
  • Keep following the path, activate the Behind Caria Manor site of grace and head east-southeast for a Grave Glovewort [1] in front of a gravestone.
  • Turn around and continue southwest for a Grave Glovewort [2] next to some of the gravestones further back.
  • From here, look east to find the next Grave Glovewort [2]. Continue southeast past the large rock and look to your left for a Grave Glovewort [1] next to some gravestones.
  • Turn northwest and look up. Climb the large rock to reach a corpse on the edge with Thawfrost Boluses.
  • Jump down and head east-northeast toward Royal Grave Evergaol:
  • Head south-southwest and pick up Golden Rune [3] from the pack of wolves. You can kill the Red Wolf of Radagon if you want, but it won't drop anything.
  • From here, head west-northwest to find a Grave Glovewort [2] behind some gravestones and a tree with yellow leaves.
  • Follow the path west-southwest and pick up Grave Glovewort [1] next to a patrolling Albinauric.
  • Keep following the path until you reach a corpse with Albinauric Ashes in front of a gravestone.
  • Look northeast and wait for the artist to disappear as you approach, for an item pickup with the Juvenile Scholar Set and a Larval Tear. This is the reward from the "Resurrection" Painting.
  • Travel back to Royal Moongazing Grounds, go through the same doorway and this time, head west toward a ruin and kill the Ash of War Scarab inside to get the Ash of War: Chilling Mist.
  • Continue southwest toward the dragon and fight Glintstone Dragon Adula. He is scripted to flee once you've dealt about 50% of his HP.
  • Keep following the path past the dragon toward Ranni's Rise:
    • Enter the tower and activate the Ranni's Rise site of grace.
    • Take the elevator to the top and talk to Ranni. Exhaust her dialogue until she tells you to begone.
    • Travel to Roundtable Hold and talk to Rogier. Tell him "Ranni cast off her cursemark" and he will ask you to enter her service.
    • Travel back to Ranni's Rise, talk to Ranni again and select "I wish to serve you". Optionally, talk to her once more and she will ask you to greet her three other servants below:
      • Ride the elevator down and talk to Iji. Talk to him multiple times until you've exhausted his dialogue.
      • Talk to Blaidd and he will tell you he's starting the search for Nokron down the well in Limgrave.
      • Talk to Seluvis. Exhaust his dialogue and he will invite you to his tower; otherwise, he will say it out loud as you're leaving the room.
    • (Optional) Take the elevator back up to Ranni and talk to her once more for some additional dialogue.
  • Exit the tower and make your way southeast toward Seluvis's Rise:
  • Travel to Roundtable Hold and talk to Gideon. Select "Show him Seluvis's Potion", followed by "Hand over Seluvis's Potion".
  • While you're here, talk to Rogier who is succumbing to his death blight. Reset the area after selecting "Talk", to find him in an unresponsive state. Make sure to interact with him at least once in this state before continuing.
  • Travel to Ranni's Rise and head northeast toward a ruin (slightly north-northeast if you exit from the balcony). Look for a hidden cellar on the ground leading to a room with some puppets. Interact with the message inside that says: "Seluvis' Puppet. Do not touch", to unlock puppets for sale with Seluvis. (You will likely need to repeat this step several times.)
  • In the southern end of the room next to the message is an illusory wall revealing the puppet of Sellen.
  • Exit the cellar and make your way back to Seluvis's Rise:
    • Talk to Seluvis multiple times to unlock his shop. Buy any sorceries you need from him:
    • You can now talk to Seluvis "About Nepheli" for some additional dialogue (if you gave the potion to Gideon earlier). Talk to him "About your chambers" and he will give you a puppet for free:
    • Talk to Seluvis once more, select "I want a new puppet" and he will now sell any puppets you didn't pick earlier:
      • Finger Maiden Therolina Puppet: 2 Starlight Shards
      • Jarwight Puppet: 3 Starlight Shards
      • Dolores the Sleeping Arrow Puppet: 5 Starlight Shards (Only for sale if you gave Seluvis's Potion to Nepheli. Otherwise, you will get this puppet for free a bit later)
      • Note: Just like with Gostoc's locations, unlocking this dialogue option seems to be consistently buggy with no known solution. If the option is not there for you, head back to his cellar and read the message again. Then, return straight back to Seluvis and the dialogue option should be available. If you gave the potion to Nepheli, then this part is even more buggy and may require repeated attempts.
    • Buy the puppet you didn't pick earlier and talk to Seluvis one last time. Ask him "About the scheme" and select "I'm interested" to advance his questline.
      • Note: You need to buy at least one puppet from Seluvis after receiving the first for free, to unlock this dialogue option.
  • Exit Seluvis's Rise and climb the wall behind the tower to reach a corpse with Black Wolf Mask.
  • Drop down and head northeast along the edge until you see a rooftop below the cliff. Drop down onto it until you reach another rooftop below with a ladder. Climb it down and pick up Spellproof Dried Liver from a corpse overlooking the room below.
  • Turn around and talk to Pidia. Buy anything you need from him:
  • Climb the ladder back up and on the roof ahead is a corpse with Old Fang x5.
  • From here, head southwest and drop down to to the outer wall rampart below. Continue ahead and drop down to a wooden platform for a corpse with Slumbering Egg x3.
  • Turn around and continue ahead while dropping down until you reach a Giant Crab, guarding a corpse with Stonesword Key.
  • (Optional) Drop down one last time and head southwest until you reach Iji, now revealed to be war counselor. Talk to him "About Nokron" and "About Blaidd".

Ruin-Strewn Precipice (Level 55-60)

  • Travel to Ravine-Veiled Village and climb up the ladders. Head inside the tunnel for Smithing Stone [4] on a corpse and another Smithing Stone [4], where the miner is mining.
  • Climb the ladder inside and in the next room you can find 2x Smithing Stone [4] next to each other on a wall and a corpse with Smithing Stone [3], but be wary of the poison traps in front of the corpse.
  • Ride the elevator, while facing south, and as it ascends, do a sprinting jump off the elevator to a reach ledge with Smithing Stone [5].
  • Drop back down and take the elevator all the way up. Pick up Golden Rune [5] from the corpse ahead and north-northeast of it is a Smithing Stone [4] on the wall behind a pillar.
  • Continue ahead and left of the stairs is a small alcove with Smithing Stone [4] and Somber Smithing Stone [4].
  • Head up the stairs and pick up Rune Arc from the corpse in front of the altar.
  • Turn around and into the room straight ahead for Lightning Grease x2, but be careful of the poison traps in the middle.
  • Continue through the tunnel and kill the Exploding Scarab ahead to receive a Somber Smithing Stone [4].
  • Head outside and pick up Soft Cotton from a corpse near the edge. Turn around and activate the Ruin-Strewn Precipice site of grace.
  • Take the elevator up and once you reach a second set of stairs, jump to the platform below for a Somber Smithing Stone [4] on the ground.
  • Climb the ladder ahead, then look east. Jump up the rocks and onto the stone pillars for a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [3] next to a bush.
  • Drop down and pick up Golden Rune [4] from the corpse surrounded by two bats.
  • Continue ahead until you reach a ladder and pick up Smithing Stone [4] from the wall behind some boxes.
  • Climb the ladder up and surrounded by two bats is a corpse with Golden Rune [5] and a Smithing Stone [4] on the wall.
  • Continue toward the singing bat while picking up 2x Smithing Stone [4] from the right-side wall. Kill the Winged Dame for a guaranteed Golden Rune [6] the first time you kill her.
  • Head up the ladder, look east and jump onto the stone pillar. Circle around the ledge for a corpse with Golden Rune [5].
  • Jump back to the wooden platform and continue until you reach another ladder. On the wall behind it is a Smithing Stone [4].
  • Continue up the ladder and once you reach the top, turn west-northwest for another ladder leading to a roof-like section, where you can pick up Smithing Stone [3] and Serpent-God's Curved Sword, guarded by some Land Octopuses.
  • Turn around and head back where you came from, picking up Smithing Stone [4] from the corner on the way.
  • Climb the same ladder back down and in this final area you can find:
  • Take the elevator up and activate the Ruin-Strewn Precipice Overlook site of grace.
  • (Optional) Great Horned Tragoth's summon sign can be found just outside the boss room.
  • (Optional) Blackguard Boggart's summon sign can be found outside the boss room, if you bought Rya's Necklace from him.
  • (Optional) Millicent's summon sign can be found to the left outside the boss room, if you haven't been following the guide and already did her questline in Caelid.
  • (Missable!) This is your first of three chances to summon Great Horned Tragoth to receive the Casual Greeting gesture. (You can use the Finger Severer in the "Multiplayer" menu afterwards to send him home, if you don't want to fight the boss using a summon.)
  • Kill Magma Wyrm Makar for Magma Wyrm's Scalesword, Dragon Heart and 24,000 runes. (18,000 runes if you summoned Great Horned Tragoth or any other NPCs.)
  • Activate the Magma Wyrm Makar site of grace at the end of the room.
    • Warning: Do not ride the elevator past this point, as it will take you into Altus Plateau. As with earlier, activating any grace in Altus will trigger the festival in Caelid, which you'll want to avoid, since there's still some optional content before then.
  • Instead, travel to Roundtable Hold, where you'll find Rogier dead. Loot Rogier's Bell Bearing and the Spellblade Set from his body, which concludes his questline. If you didn't buy any of his ashes, they can now be purchased from the Twin Maiden Husks after giving them his bell bearing.
    • Rogier will additionally drop Rogier's Letter if you talked to him "About D", along with Rogier's Rapier+8 if you didn't get it from him after killing Godrick.
    • Note: Rogier's death is unfortunately quite buggy. If he isn't dead, try interacting with him a few times, then travel to any grace and return to the roundtable. You can also try resting at the grace in Roundtable Hold and passing time there. From my testing, quitting and reloading the game was enough to make him die.

Ainsel River (Level 60-65)

  • Note: You will need 1 Imbued Sword Key, 2 Stonesword Keys, and at least 1,000 runes to get everything in this section.

Buy the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [17] from him for 1,000 runes, as it is needed to progress a questline later. Buy any items you need from him:
  • Pick up Hefty Beast Bone from the edge next to the merchant.
  • Drop down to the room below to pick up Smithing Stone [4] from a corpse in the middle of the room.
  • Head outside and keep the wall on your right-side until you reach a corpse with Furlcalling Finger Remedy in the water.

  • Travel back to Fort Faroth and kill Greyoll by slaying five of the seven juvenile dragons around her, for Dragon Heart x5 and a total of 74,290 runes once she dies.
    • Easier Method: Equip any weapon with bleed-loss buildup (preferably one with a multi-hit Ash of War, such as the Flail) and infuse it with Blood Grease. Start hacking away at Greyoll's left hindleg to kill her without engaging in any combat with the juveniles, while still receiving the full reward of Dragon Heart x5 and 74,290 runes.
    • Maximize rune gain: Equip the Gold Scarab talisman beforehand, then use a Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot once Greyoll is close to dying, netting you 115,891 runes instead.
    • Note: You don't have to kill Greyoll now, as she's technically part of Dragonbarrow, but there's no real reason to delay it.
  • Now that Greyoll is dead, you can purchase the newly available draconic power from the altar in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion:

Redmane Castle (Level 70-80)

  • Note: You will need 12,000 runes for an armor piece to get everything in this section. (Saving some souls after killing the main boss will be more than sufficient.)
  • Additional note: If you've already triggered the festival, several enemies will be missing, and several doors will be locked, requiring you to use the teleporter near the bridge to enter the castle. Head toward the festival plaza, speak to Therolina, then let Jerren finish his speech, to receive two missable gestures. After initiating the festival, you must kill Radahn, then talk to Jerren in the throne room afterwards. Once the festival plaza is replaced by a secondary boss, you will be able to explore the castle freely. (See #1706 and onwards.)
  • Travel to Impassable Greatbridge, then cross the bridge toward the castle while dodging the trebuchet attacks. Behind the watchtower is a corpse with Smithing Stone [3].
  • Continue up the hill toward the castle entrance, where a Troll will try to ambush you. Since the castle gate is locked, continue west along the ledge to access the top of the watchtower. Climb the ladder next to the ballista inside to reach a corpse with Smithing Stone [6].
  • Climb back to the top and jump down to a ledge below the watchtower. Continue up the cliff and past some bats until you reach a small graveyard. Kill the Ash of War Scarab ahead to receive the Ash of War: Flaming Strike.
  • In front of the large gravestone is a corpse with Smoldering Butterfly x8. Additionally, the Winged Dame near the edge will drop a Golden Rune [9] (the first time you kill her).
  • Climb the ladder near the wooden staircase to enter the castle. Make your way along the battlements until you reach a ladder next to a Redmane Knight. Climb it down, then enter the room up the first set of stairs. In the end of the room: open the shortcut door leading back to the graveyard.
  • Pick up Smithing Stone [5] and Armorer's Cookbook [5] from the two separate corpses in the same room.
  • Exit the room and continue ahead until you reach the courtyard. Kill the two Lion Guardians for 2x Somber Smithing Stone [4], 2x Beast Blood, and 2x Old Fang x2.
  • Head up the stairs opposite of where you entered the courtyard and pick up the Armorer's Cookbook [4] from the corpse behind one of the barrels.
  • Exit the room and pick up Smithing Stone [4] from a pile of dead bodies in the courtyard.
  • Head up the wooden guardtower at the end of the courtyard to find a corpse with Golden Rune [6].
  • Continue up the stairs behind the spiked barricades, then up another staircase to the southeast. Enter the room and climb the ladder inside. At the top, pick up Flamberge and Smithing Stone [3] from the two corpses guarded by a Pumpkin Head.
  • Climb another ladder to reach a corpse with Smithing Stone [5] behind the tower.
  • Return back to the stairs below and make your way across the small gauntlet with spiked barricades. Activate the Chamber Outside the Plaza site of grace in the side room before the boss.
  • Head back to the spiked barricades and take the western path up a wooden staircase to find a corpse with Smithing Stone [4].
  • Go back down the same staircase and continue past a tree for a room with Red-Hot Whetblade inside.
  • Ascend the stairs, then make your way along the battlements until you reach a chest with Smithing Stone [6].
  • Travel to Chamber Outside the Plaza, then kill the Misbegotten Warrior & Crucible Knight duo for Ruins Greatsword and 16,000 runes.
  • Once the battle is over, activate the Redmane Castle Plaza site of grace in the middle of the plaza.
  • Head up the first set of stairs and pick up Somber Smithing Stone [5] from the corpse to the left of the massive altar.
  • (Optional) Enter the throne room and talk to Jerren. It doesn't matter what you answer, but make sure to talk "About Iji".
  • (Optional) Travel to Road to the Manor, talk to Iji, then select "About Jerren" and "Please go to the festival grounds". (This is one of multiple ways of triggering the festival, meaning you won't need to confront Seluvis about the path to Nokron.)
  • Travel to Ranni's Rise and make your way to Seluvis's Rise. Talk to Seluvis and select "About Nokron" to receive Seluvis's Introduction.
  • Travel to Waypoint Ruins Cellar and talk to Sellen. Select "Show letter of introduction" to learn about Radahn, effectively triggering the festival.
  • (Optional) Travel to Siofra River Bank, then make your way east toward Blaidd. Select either "Tell Sellen's story" or "Tell Iji's story". The outcome is the same either way.
  • Travel to Redmane Castle Plaza, and now that the festival is starting there should be multiple NPCs around:
    • (Missable!) Talk to Therolina to receive the Polite Bow gesture.
    • (Optional) Talk to Blaidd and Alexander around the plaza.
    • Once you're ready, talk to Jerren and select "Ready as I'll ever be" to commence the festival. Let him finish his speech after the cutscene to receive the Heartening Cry gesture.
  • Head through the throne room to pick up Smithing Stone [6] from a corpse in the small chapel.
  • Take the outside lift down and use the portal near the water to be teleported to the Wailing Dunes arena:
  • Travel to Redmane Castle Plaza, then head back into the throne room to talk to Jerren. Exhaust his dialogue until he has nothing new to say.
  • Travel to Roundtable Hold and talk to Enia. Optionally use the Remembrance of the Starscourge to exchange for either:
    • Starscourge Greatsword: 1 Remembrance of the Starscourge
    • Lion Greatbow: 1 Remembrance of the Starscourge
    • Note: Remembrance of the Starscourge can only be duplicated at Mausoleums with a bell or a duplication coffin in the DLC. Additionally, this remembrance can be used or sold to gain 40,000 runes if you don't want to exchange it for any of the items.
  • Enia additionally sells Radahn's equipment:
  • Buy Radahn's Lion Armor as it is the only alterable legendary armor set for a while (the other being Mohg's robe) (required to progress Boc's questline for a gesture later).
  • Talk to Fia, let her hold you and select "May I ask a favor?" to receive the Weathered Dagger.
  • Head into the roundtable room, talk to D and select "Give the Weathered Dagger". Rest at the roundtable beside him and find Fia above his corpse in a newly opened room past Hewg. Talk to her, then loot D's Bell Bearing and the Twinned Set from his body, which concludes his questline. Giving D's Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks will allow them to sell his incantations.
    • Warning: Do not sell any part of the Twinned Set, as the entire armor set is needed for a questline later.

Nokron, Eternal City (Level 70-75)

  • Note: You will need 1 Stonesword Key to get everything in this section.
  • (Optional) Start by traveling to Road to the Manor. Talk to Iji and select "Talk" to learn that Blaidd will not be joining the search for Nokron. Additionally, you can talk to him "About Jerren" for some subtle foreshadowing about his questline.
  • (Optional) Travel to Agheel Lake South, then head south up the hill toward Forlorn Hound Evergaol. Talk to Blaidd who has been imprisoned inside, and choose to either "Open the Evergaol" or "Don't open it". It doesn't matter which you choose, as the outcome is the same either way.
  • (Optional) Return to Iji in Liurnia, who will now have some additional dialogue after speaking with Blaidd in the Evergaol.
  • Travel to Fort Haight West to find a giant crater northwest of the grace. Inspect the glowing Message left by Blaidd and make your way down the crater. Once you reach the entranceway to Nokron, pick up Golden Rune [5] from a corpse on the edge.
  • Drop down to the ground level for a corpse with Soporific Grease x2 hanging over a bottomless pit.
  • Head onto the rooftop section, then do a sprinting jump toward the tower on the right. Jump to the rooftop ahead for a corpse with Ghostflame Torch.
  • Turn north and drop down twice for a corpse at the bottom rooftop with Burred Bolt x10.
  • Continue ahead, but before you drop onto the large fallen-down building, turn south toward the two roofs for a Rune Arc, guarded by three Silver Tears.
  • Drop down northeast to reach a corpse with Golden Rune [6] on the ground below.
  • At the end of the fallen-down building is a corpse with Nascent Butterfly x3.
  • Continue along the ledge ahead until you reach a corpse with Furlcalling Finger Remedy hanging over the edge of the floor.
  • Don't drop down yet, instead turn around to pick up Smithing Stone [5] from the corner on the same floor.
  • Drop down to the floor below and immediately turn around to find a corpse with Golden Rune [6].
  • In the same room you can also find a corpse in the middle with Clarifying White Cured Meat and a Ghost Glovewort [3] near the exit.
  • Continue into the room ahead and activate the Nokron, Eternal City site of grace.
  • Head into the courtyard and pick up Ghost-Glovewort Picker's Bell Bearing [1] from the corpse underneath the gazebo.
  • Go inbetween the two buildings east-northeast of the corpse to find a body with Somber Smithing Stone [4] near a tree.
  • Return to the gazebo, then head southeast into the garden area between two structures. Pick up 2x Ghost Glovewort [3] from the left side of the garden.
  • Pick up the Greatshield Soldier Ashes and Smithing Stone [5] from the two separate corpses on the opposite side of the garden.
  • Enter the large building from the side entrance to find a corpse inside with a Larval Tear.
  • Exit through the main entrance and head left around the building to pick up a Ghost Glovewort [3] and a Ghost Glovewort [4]
  • Follow the trail of Silver Fireflies leading to a corpse with Smithing Stone [3], guarded by a Fallen Hawks Greatshield Soldier.
  • Return to the gazebo and head east down the stairs leading to the next section. Take in the view, then pick up Golden Rune [7] from the corpse down the stairs.
  • Head down a second set of stairs, and in the small area before the boss you can find:
    • Ghost Glovewort [3]. Behind a tree near the cliff edge.
    • Golden Rune [7]. On a corpse sitting near the cliff edge.
    • Larval Tear. On a corpse in the gazebo, guarded by three Silver Tears.
    • Rune Arc. On a corpse against the small cliff of rocks. Look behind you after dropping on the bridge toward the fog gate.
  • Once you've picked up all the items, go through the fog gate and kill the Mimic Tear for Larval Tear x2, Silver Tear Mask and 10,000 runes.
  • Make sure to activate the Mimic Tear site of grace after defeating the boss.
  • Giving the Ghost-Glovewort Picker's Bell Bearing [1] to the Twin Maiden Husks will expand their inventory to sell an unlimited amount of:
  • Head across the bridge, starting from the Mimic Tear site of grace, and kill the Somber Scarab up ahead to receive a Somber Smithing Stone [5].
  • Further along the left side of a bridge is a corpse with Golden Rune [4] in front of a pile of stone blocks.
  • Below the arching structure ahead is a Ghost Glovewort [3]. Be sure to also pick up Dwelling Arrow x8 behind a brazier just southeast of the Glovewort.
  • Continue ahead, then head down the collapsed part of the bridge to find a corpse with Nascent Butterfly.
  • Light the first Hallowhorn Brazier next to the road below.
  • Follow the road toward the Ancestral Follower Shaman ahead, then pick up Gold-Tinged Excrement x5, Fireproof Dried Liver, and Golden Rune [4] from the three corpses, along with a Ghost Glovewort [4], next to the road.
  • Kill the Ancestral Follower Shaman and light the second Hallowhorn Brazier behind her.
  • Head up the hill southwest of the second brazier to activate the Ancestral Woods site of grace.
  • Look southwest and jump to the roof below. Make your way down until you reach a corpse with Rejuvenating Boluses on a small balcony.
  • Continue ahead and up a giant staircase to find a corpse holding a Rune Arc.
  • From the Rune Arc, look northwest and do a sprinting jump onto the ledge ahead. Make your way around the building to find a corpse with Celestial Dew.
  • Return to the giant staircase, then head down by jumping across the tower below. Pick up Golden Rune [7] once you reach the other side.
  • Continue ahead and across the beam of a broken structure. Drop down through the open archways and pick up the Black Whetblade from the altar inside.

Soft Caps

Stat Soft cap 1 Soft cap 2 Soft cap 3 Soft cap 4
Vigor 40 60
Mind 50 60
Endurance 15 30 50
Endurance (Equip Load) 25 60
Strength 18 50 60 80
Dexterity 18 50 60 80
Intelligence (Weapon) 20 50 80
Intelligence (Sorcery) 60 80
Faith (Weapon) 20 50 80
Faith (Incantation) 60 80
Arcane (Weapon) 20 60 80
Arcane (Status Buildup) 40 45 60

Vigor: The stat you should focus on early. Getting 40 Vigor early makes the entire early-mid game a complete joke. Combined with the fact you can start the game with a +5 Somber weapon and plenty of upgraded Flasks, you will be tanking and killing most enemies with little investment. It is not recommended to level Vigor past 60.

Mind: Although the scaling dropoff on Mind happens quite late, most builds will be fine around 20-40 Mind.

Endurance: Level based on how much stamina and equip load your build needs. You typically want to end around 40-50 Endurance.

Strength: Strength scaling largely depends on your weapon and its individual scaling when infused with an Ash of War affinity. For an accurate scaling, use a Build Planner, add your weapon and play with the Strength stat until you notice diminishing returns. Keep in mind that two-handing your weapon multiplies your Strength stat by 1.5x. For example, with 20 Strength, two-handing would raise it to 30, allowing you to wield weapons that require more Strength without actually meeting the stat requirements.

Dexterity: Same as with Strength. Dex scaling depends on your weapon and its individual scaling. Use a Build Planner, add your weapon of choice and play with the Dexterity stat until you notice diminishing returns.

Intelligence: For the individual scaling on each staff, I highly recommend checking out Fextra's page about Intelligence.

Faith: For the individual scaling on each seal, I highly recommend checking out Fextra's page about Faith.

Arcane: If your weapon scales with Arcane, then leveling this stat will increase the amount of Blood Loss, Poison, Sleep, and Madness buildup your weapon inflicts. A list of all weapons that scale with Arcane can be found on Fextra's page. Arcane is also the only stat that increases your Discovery (1 per point).

General recommendation:

  1. Reach level requirements for your desired weapon
  2. Focus exclusively on vigor. Leveling any of the damage stats yield little value, since most weapons have poor scaling early on
  3. Level Endurance for your equip load with armor and weapon
  4. Start focusing on your dedicated stat, once your weapon has better scaling

FAQ

I'd like to thank ZKjellberg and smcnabb, the creators of the previous cheat sheets that inspired this project. As someone who has used their cheat sheets countless times to make sure I didn't miss anything, I noticed no one had made something similar for Elden Ring, probably because of its open-world design and much less linear progression path. Most of the information in this guide comes from Fextralife and Eldenpedia. The guide loosely follows Cowboy's progression route from his walkthrough for the second and third section, and uses Map Genie's Elden Ring Map for item locations, ensuring everything is included.

What's included in the playthrough?

The playthrough DOES NOT include:

  • Any farmable items, plants, and crafting materials collected from the ground (materials picked off the wall or ground such as smithing stones or gloveworts ARE included)
  • Any respawning scarabs such as red and blue teardrop scarabs that fill your flasks
  • Any stranded souls/ghosts or sword monuments that you can interact with for optional lore
  • Any martyr effigies that you can interact with to activate co-op summon-signs for an area
  • Any guide and gatekeeper statues, birdseye telescopes, or stakes of marika
  • Any farmable weapons, shields or armor that drop as loot from enemies are not included in the playthrough, but can be found in the Armaments and Armor tabs respectively

The playthrough DOES include:

  • Every single item pickup in the game (glowing pickups that you can interact with to receive an item)
  • All achievements, bosses, NPCs, invasions, and their corresponding questlines in natural order
  • All merchants and their items in order of when you'd come across them
  • All sites of grace, gestures, ashes, paintings and talismans
  • All scarabs that drop loot
  • All illusory walls and secrets
  • All scadutree fragments, revered spirit ashes and miquella's crosses from the DLC

How do I use the cheat sheet?

This project is a comprehensive walkthrough guide for Elden Ring, covering every single item pickup, NPC questlines, bosses, achievements and more. If this is your first playthrough, I highly recommend that you complete the game on your own first and then use this guide for your second run.

In the main Playthrough tab, you have a step by step checklist guide through the entire game. You can filter this checklist to only show steps for bosses, questlines, achievements or key-items, ideal if you don't want to follow the guide, but still want to get the important stuff. Additionally, you can use the search bar to only show items matching your search. For example, typing "Stonesword Key" in the search field and filtering by Merchants would show you which merchants sell stonesword keys.

The Achievements, Armaments, Armor, and Misc tabs serve as separate checklists for tracking achievements, weapons, armor, gestures, ashes, and more.

In the Resources tab, you'll find tables with useful information about the game's stat caps, upgrade materials, rune items and more.

If you don't like the notebook theme, you can switch to dark mode by clicking the moon icon in the navigation bar. Click the sun icon to switch back.

Do I have to follow every step in order?

Not necessarily, this project was primarily intended for my cousin and me. Since I am a completionist, I like to make sure that I don't miss a single detail the game has to offer. This guide represents how I prefer to complete the game, reducing as much backtracking as possible and approaching the game's areas in a natural, yet efficient order. Elden Ring is a vast open world game, so if you'd rather play at your own pace, but still don't wanna miss any important questlines or achievements, give some of the filters a try.

Will I get all achievements if I follow the guide?

Yes! All achievements, including every step to get them are covered in the Playthrough tab. If you're following the guide and playing on PlayStation, you'll naturally get the Platinum Trophy just by following each step. You can filter the playthrough to only show achievement-related steps and which order you'll get them in. Check out the Achievements tab for a checkbox list of all the achievements.

Are there any missable things in Elden Ring?

Yes, many things in Elden Ring are missable. While most of them are quest-related, some achievements can be permanently missed until your next playthrough. Every missable entry is clearly labeled (Missable!), so that they can be easily searched and filtered by typing "missable" into the search bar. Missable entries that don't give any item or reward are labeled (Optional). You won't miss anything if you're following the guide.

How long does it take to 100% complete Elden Ring?

A 100% completion playthrough of Elden Ring following this guide, including getting all three endings in a single run, typically takes between 60-90 hours, accounting for variables like differences in playstyles and player skill. The guide is optimized to avoid unnecessary backtracking where possible, while approaching the game in a natural order.

What level should I be for each area?

The guide provides recommended level ranges for each area in Elden Ring. These ranges do not represent the difficulty of an area, but rather the level you're likely to reach naturally when following the guide. These are suggestions based on typical progression from various of my own playthroughs, and could help you avoid being over- or under-leveled if you want a fair experience.

What do I do if I accidentally attacked an NPC?

You should never attack or kill an NPC in Elden Ring unless it's specifically stated to do so in the guide. If you've attacked any NPCs and they've become hostile, then you'll need to travel to Church of Vows in Liurnia and absolve your sins in front of the statue there by using a Celestial Dew. If you've already killed an NPC, then their questline is over until you start a new playthrough. Make sure to pick up their bell bearing if they were selling any items.

How do I navigate in Elden Ring using compass directions?

Elden Ring's compass uses primary, intercardinal and secondary-intercardinal directions. I strongly recommend keeping the compass HUD enabled as the guide uses it to provide accurate directions. Below are the tiers used to help provide directions:

  1. Primary Cardinal Directions:
    • North (N)
    • East (E)
    • South (S)
    • West (W)
  2. Intercardinal Directions:
    • Northeast (NE)
    • Southeast (SE)
    • Southwest (SW)
    • Northwest (NW)
  3. Secondary Intercardinal Directions:
    • North-Northeast (NNE)
    • East-Northeast (ENE)
    • East-Southeast (ESE)
    • South-Southeast (SSE)
    • South-Southwest (SSW)
    • West-Southwest (WSW)
    • West-Northwest (WNW)
    • North-Northwest (NNW)

For an in-game example, northeast refers to the midpoint between north and east. Similarly, north-northeast would then refer to the midpoint between north and northeast.

Can I use the cheat sheet for multiple characters?

Yes! You can create, edit, and delete profiles using the buttons in the navigation bar. Any stored information is saved separately to your selected profile.

How are the checklists saved?

The checklists are saved to your browser's local storage. This means that clearing your browser's cache, will destroy any saved progress.

I noticed an error in the cheat sheet! How can I contribute?

Visit the project's repository on GitHub. Check if someone has already reported the same issue and if not, open a new issue detailing the error. If you want to contribute directly, I recommend you fork the project, make your suggested changes and open a pull request.
